That's reminding me that the last time I had a chat with self-identified
white-supremacist guys was at the 1st or 2nd Seattle Race Conference we
organized in about 2003 that Tim spoke at. There were just a couple guys
with signs or fliers. I went out to the street, shook hands, introduced
myself, chatted awhile and invited them to come in and hear Tim speak, which
they declined to do. They left soon after. There wasn't any counter-protest.
It seemed like most conference participants ignored them. But that was a
different time. There is something in the air these days that could blow
something like that situation up just as Lisa's email described.
