The People's Institute for Survival and Beyond in New York City is getting
word out about a conference in a big way.

The conference gathers together professionals from across the country to
discuss "Reducing Racial Disproportionality in Child Welfare." The
conference is of interest to social workers and other persons involved in
the child welfare system. For those who are not, and who might like to learn
something about it, "disproportionality" means something to the effect that
the child welfare system is built on a racist structure and that structure
needs to be addressed so that all people benefit. The conference will
highlight some of the work the People's Institute has been doing in this
field for several years now.

People in New York may have seen announcements of the conference already.
For those who are at a distance, please tell anyone in your area who might
have an interest, and if you know people close to New York, let them know as
well.

The conference flyer is attached.
