Or more accurately a new approach to one of our core programs. For 6 years now, The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions’ annual Summer Rebuilding Experience has been inviting Palestinians, Israelis and internationals to witness the devastating effects of Occupation and work “on the ground” together in the West Bank rebuilding a demolished Palestinian home as one way to oppose the draconian policies of the Israeli government. In order to encourage broad community involvement in this activity, to grow our local organizations, and to expand the wider movement against Occupation in the US, ICAHD-USA is introducing an opportunity for local groups to become more involved; </span></font><b><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Times" size="4"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 14px; ">specifically, we are asking groups such as yours to sponsor the participation of an individual in the annual Summer Rebuilding Experience. </span></font><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Times" size="4"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 14px; "><o:p></o:p></span></font></b></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 13px; "><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Times" size="4"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 14px; ">Sponsorship consists of identifying a suitable candidate and helping her/him raise the necessary funds to cover their costs, which include fees for the camp (for two weeks of lodging, food and domestic travel on educational tours) and a contribution toward the costs of constructing the new home (particularly the building materials). This coming year the fee will be $2,000. Donations made to ICAHD-USA to cover the $2000 fee are tax deductible. In addition, some candidates may also require help with travel expenses.
